The long-awaited ferry service between Pattaya and Hua Hin will be launched from January 1, 2017 as a New year gift for all residents and visitors of Thailand.

Director General of the Marine Department, Mr. Sorasak Sansombat informed that that the company operator chosen to be the Royal Passenger Liner Company, which will provide daily route length of 113 km across the Gulf of Thailand, and at the initial stage will be able at once to carry up to 150 passengers. In the future we plan to increase the size of the ferry with a capacity of up to 260 people. The journey time between the two popular resorts in this way will be reduced by almost two thirds.

It is expected that the establishment of a ferry service between the two cities will contribute to the growth of tourism and logistics between the provinces of Chonburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

This project is part of a large Government East-West Ferry Project, which includes the construction of a deep sea port in Prachuap Khiri Khan to cater for cargo shipments .Full range of services for passenger and car ferries along with the new port is expected to be launched in 2020.
