Visa waiver for another 3 countries

As it became known lately, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand plans to add another 3 countries (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to the list of 19 countries that have already received a special offer on which the payment for visa fees at the embassies and consulates of Thailand in the high season will be canceled and the cost of the visa on arrival will be reduced by 2 times.

Thus, it is planned that the number of tourists from these countries will increase by 10% next year compared with the previous year.

In addition, the Ministry plans to expand the visa privileges for visitors from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, as these countries have a high potential for Thai tourism.

According to available information, from January 1 to November 20 this year in Thailand arrived 28.7 million foreign tourists, which is 10.4% more compared to the same period last year.

Last year, Thailand was visited about 30 million tourists, and this figure is expected to grow to 33.8 million in the current year.
