The largest industrial park of the Kingdom of Cambodia

Recently, we often hear about the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) of Thailand, which was created with the direct support of the Government of the Kingdom. Nevertheless, neighboring states are also keeping pace with the times and are trying to create favorable conditions for the country's investors.

In particular, it became known that the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ), which was founded in 2008, plans to grow significantly in the next 5 years: it is planned to attract 300 new enterprises and employ up to 80 thousand people.

The SSEZ occupies 1100 hectares and is located in the hills to the east of Sihanoukville and the Kingdom’s only deepsea port. Jointly developed and operated by Jiangsu Taihu Cambodia International Economic Cooperation Investment Co., Ltd and Cambodia International Investment Development Group Co., Ltd (CIIDG), industrial property has become a platform for cooperation between Cambodia and China under the “One-Belt, One Road” initiative.

At the moment, there are 110 enterprises (mainly Chinese) in the region, 93 factories that operate on an area of 525 hectares, which makes it the largest in the country, both in size and employment. In the industrial park now are employed more than 16,000 people, which include housing for factory workers and managers.
