The procedure of the entry in Thailand during COVID-19

Yesterday, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs approved a procedure for foreigners to enter the country until the borders are fully opened. Foreigners who have a work permit or who have received a letter from the Ministry of Labour confirming that they can obtain a work permit can enter Thailand on the basis of an entry certificate. All requests for entry will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the level of importance and urgency.

The procedure for obtaining the entry certificate.

An application for entry must be submitted to the Consulate of Thailand in the applicant's country of residence (10 days before the date of departure). The following documents shall be attached to the application:

- A copy of the work permit or a copy of a letter from the Labour Department;

- A valid health insurance policy (covering all expenditures of medical treatment, including Covid-19 worth at least 100,000 US dollars).

After reviewing the documents and confirming the possibility of entry, the Consulate will issue an entry certificate and a declaration form, which the applicant must fill in.

At the airport of departure must be presented:

1. Certificate from the Consulate

2. Completed declaration

3. "Fit to fly" certificate (to be issued 72 hours before the flight)

4. Health insurance (covering all expenditures of medical treatment, including Covid-19 worth at least 100,000 US dollars)

Upon arrival in Thailand, a foreigner will be subjected to a 14-day quarantine at their own expense. Quarantine must be carried out at a Gouvernment-designated Alternarive State Quarantine facility.
